No. Users' mobile phones are expected to be on silent mode or switched off while in the Library reading area. However, users who want to make and receive calls are strictly mandated to make use of designated phone booths within the main library premises.

Users are not allowed to eat and drink in the reading and books areas of the Library; however, the main library has a canteen on the ground floor where users can have access to food and drinks and eat there too.  

The Library subscribes to various electronic resources to support scholarship. Please visit the library website to access these resources or ask for research assistance from the Reference or E-Librarian where necessary.

Visit the Circulation Desk at the Main Library to complete your library user registration. After which you will be issued a Library ID card that allows you to access the library and its resources. 

Yes. Your student identification card or your library registration card only grants you access to use the library. Still, you need your library borrower’s card to be able to loan library books out or renew books. You may place a book on hold pending when you complete your library registration and present your library borrower's card to check out loanable items.

Yes.  Registered library users can borrow library book(s) after locating them. Visit the Circulation Desk for more clarification.

If you are experiencing difficulty locating a book on the shelves, seek assistance from library staff on patrol or library rovers on duty in the shelf area, or visit the Circulation Desk. 

Information resources in the library can be located through the use of the traditional Card catalogue, which contains a list of materials held by the Library. Users can access these through the subject, author or title catalogue. If you cannot find what you need in the catalogue, please seek assistance at the Circulation Desk.

Students and staff of Delta State University can gain access to the main library and all its branch libraries with their university identification cards or Library identification cards. The Library ID cards can be obtained upon library registration at the Main Library Circulation Desk. Non-members of the University can gain access upon presentation of a letter of introduction and a valid identification card from their institutions, which has to be approved by the University Librarian.
